  • In accordance with the 2024 North Carolina Construction General Permit (NCG010000), qualified personnel must conduct inspections at least once per calendar week on applicable construction sites once land-disturbing activities begin. Our inspectors are certified to operate statewide, including within the Charlotte–Mecklenburg jurisdiction (CMCSI), and meet all North Carolina Construction General Permit requirements.

Our inspection services are designed to maintain full compliance with Permit NCG010000 and include documentation of all required elements, including: the measures inspected; date and time of inspection; name of the inspector; operational status of each measure; identified maintenance needs; and detailed descriptions, supporting evidence, and dates of any corrective actions taken.

  • Our qualified inspectors and field personnel are trained in the proper installation, maintenance, and inspection of erosion prevention, sediment control, and stormwater measures on both active and stabilized construction sites. Our team follows established best practices for managing erosion and sediment, helping protect the environment—particularly North Carolina’s rivers, creeks, and streams.

    Importance of Erosion Prevention

Erosion is a natural process, but it can be significantly accelerated by land-disturbing activities such as farming, timber harvesting, and construction. Each year in North Carolina, thousands of acres are exposed during construction and land development. Without properly installed and maintained erosion and sediment control measures, these activities can result in excessive erosion and sediment runoff that degrades water quality and damages nearby waterways.

    Key Benefits of Erosion Inspections

    Environmental Protection

Certified inspectors play a critical role in protecting waterways by reducing sediment-laden runoff that can harm aquatic habitats and degrade water quality.

    Regulatory Compliance

Routine inspections help construction sites remain compliant with local and state requirements, including North Carolina General Permit No. NCG010000, which mandates weekly inspections by qualified personnel.

    Quality Construction Projects

Effective erosion and sediment control measures are a key component of high-quality construction projects, supporting site stability and long-term environmental protection.

    Community & Public Health

By preventing erosion and sediment runoff, inspections help maintain clean, healthy waterways that support surrounding communities and natural ecosystems.
